How to Make your Perfume Last Longer
Perfumes can help define your signature style and boost your confidence. Although it is unseen, it can add a lot to a person in terms of personality, and gracefully portray the person. Here are some tips to help you get the most out of your fragrance and make it last longer.

How you apply a perfume can depend on what kind you are using. Is it a Parfum or an edT? is it a heavier scent or light and airy.
If your choice is on the lighter side, you can directly apply it on your skin, or more specifically, your hotspot. Hotspots are the pulse points present on your body, these include — the inside of your wrists, inner elbows, and behind your ear lobes and knees, are where your veins sit closest to your skin, so you can feel your pulse. The heat emitted from these warm spots help to naturally diffuse a scent. Simply spritz or dab on some or all these point for your fragrance to linger on you all day.
If you choice is a more musky scent and on the heavier side, you can do the above, but if it is an especially strong and over powering scent that might overwhelm those around you, simply spray the perfume in front of you and walk through and back — “a spritz and step”— which leaves a light layer on your clothes, wrapping you in a delectable embrace.

You should never rub after spraying your perfume, always only dab. Rubbing effects the perfume in a harmful way, as it crushes the molecules of the scent and ruins it. It should alway be dabbed on so that the top notes can beautifully evolve to the heart and base notes through out the day.
The best way to enhance your fragrance’s potency is to use the same shower gel and body lotion as your perfume. This helps to infuse and lock more scent on your body.

If your perfume is a simple concoction with only a few notes, you can create your own custom smell truly unique to you by spraying another perfume of your choice. But keep in mind, don’t mix perfumes that already have a lot of notes, otherwise they might end up cancelling each other.
Another way to make sure your fragrance lasts long is applying it right after getting out of the shower. The moisture helps the perfume particles diffuse and lock better to your skin. You can even apply a bit of Vaseline on your pulse points and spray over it. You can even use unscented moisturiser to do the same.

Perfumes should also be stored correctly. Make sure wherever you keep your fragrances, it is away from direct sunlight and is a cool dry place. You should also never shake your perfume bottles, shaking it will shorten the lifespan. This helps increase the shelf life of your favourite fragrances.
Now go on ahead, use what you learned and make the most out of your favourite perfumes!
